Set on vengeance, James devises a plan to assassinate those who betrayed him. Ironically, with the success of the assassinations, James becomes the major player that he didn't want to become. After his son is born, James yearns to escape from his destructive life so he can raise his child in peace. But is that possible? About the Author Christopher Wolf resides in Phoenix, Arizona, and is writing the sequel in his Powder Wars trilogy. Cespen, The Endless City is a fantastic fantasy novel. The initial chapters introduce you to a large and complex world far beyond the scope of the average fantasy story. The plot is active and engaging, making it hard to put the book down. I found myself trying to figure out what would happen next, then being completely and pleasantly surprised. Wolf develops his characters wonderfully, leaving the reader completely engrossed in the lives of the heroes. The book is written from an uncommon perspective, one of cunning and hard learned lessons. The first person perspective adds an incredible amount of immersion to the story, well beyond what I have experienced before. The depth of each character is more than enough for an entire story, ones that I would gladly read. I highly recommend this book to anyone, as it is a story that everyone can relate to in some way. I loved this book, and hope that Wolf continues this story in the future.
I thought that the world the author created was really unique and imaginitive. The story always has another twist to the plot so it's not predictable. I especially liked how the characters were developed; they became people I could care about and wanted to know more about. Even characters who were only introduced briefly had distinct characteristics and added an extra dimension to the story. I like how it's written in first person so you can live inside James' head and thoughts. He is by far my favorite character.
